it is very confounding to me why some people can take pictures EVERY few steps they take. zebra crossings (huh?!?!), funky-smelling public toilets (still can smile, you win), in barely-there lingerie (okay nothing wrong if its for your own ahem personal pursuit, but posting it on facebook..uhhuh.) Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in to express my delight, and disappointment at two very different service experiences, by you as a service provider. Both encounters occurred on the 9^th of July, 2009.

As a passenger, our primary objective is essentially to get from point A to point B, safely – simply put. However, on the 9^th of July, I was subjected to an acute case of fury, plainly due to a negligent taxi driver’s behavior.

I was picked up by taxi driver Goh Ah Beng (Vehicle Number: SHC5268B) at 13:27 on the 9^th of July, at CMPB Depot Road – with instruction to head for 625 Aljunied Road, Aljunied Industrial Complex. Mr. Goh gave an expression that suggested that he might not be familiar with the area, but did not pursue any further, except which way I would prefer. While we were on our way, Mr. Goh was speeding all the way, and driving very recklessly – apathetic to my and other drivers’ safety as well.

The boiling point came when he indifferently waved me off to alight at Citimac and curtly barked that Aljunied Road is just behind, without giving any concrete instructions how to get there. Admittedly, I was very unfamiliar with the area, as I was there for a business meeting; thus had no choice but to trust Mr. Goh, and alighted.

It was futile locating Aljunied Road, as it was nowhere near Playfair Road where I was dropped – which I only realized much later after another Transcab taxi driver picked me up.

As drivers myself, I can understand that we may not always be familiar with all areas. However, Mr. Goh Ah Beng’s nonchalance and refusal to pre-empt me that he is unfamiliar with the area and might be lost is infuriating. It is appalling that as a driver, he is unable to meet the basic objective of a passenger – to bring him/her from point A to point B.

Nevertheless, Mr Wong Peng Fatt (Vehicle No. SHC 5650E ) was a godsend, he detected my distress and swiftly picked me up along Macpherson Road at 13:52, and got me to my destination quickly – so that I would not be late for my business appointment. Without disregard for safety, he even went beyond his duty to explain that there is only one entrance to Aljunied Road, and how I can get there the next time. His attentiveness really helped to mitigate the damage done by Mr. Goh Ah Beng, as part of Transcab’s service recovery – and I sincerely feel that he deserves to be complimented.

Therefore, it is puzzling to the consumer that Transcab, which prides itself on service excellence, present two very different service experiences on the same day – disappointment and delight. I sincerely look forward to see Transcab taking the necessary steps to deliver its promise of service excellence, and would really appreciate a reply to acknowledge my earnest feedback. Many thanks.
